The City of Alhambra and the City of San Gabriel have been important partners in facilitating this popular cultural event. While it started as just a local community event, the Lunar New Year Celebration has experienced continuous growth and popularity over the years. Today, the Celebration includes representation from cities throughout the West San Gabriel Valley area of more than 1.68 million people.

The City of Alhambra

Alhambra, "Gateway to the San Gabriel Valley", lies just eight miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Over 90,000 residents live in a charming community of tree lined streets and quality housing, recreation and public and private educational opportunities. The newly revitalized downtown area, "Auto Row", and the many Valley Boulevard retail locations provide a wide array of opportunities for the discerning shopper. Alhambra's industrial climate features high-tech companies that compliment the City's established economic base in a well-planned industrial corridor. The city offers the luxuries of a cosmopolitan city charm and the serenity of a friendly, family oriented community.

  The City of San Gabriel

The City of San Gabriel is the birthplace of the Los Angeles region and the site of the historic Mission San Gabriel Archangel, founded in 1771. The city's 1500 seat San Gabriel Civic Auditorium is considered one of the region's real cultural treasures. With abundant commercial land, San Gabriel is also a community of unique homes and neighborhoods with a rich and diverse demographic base. Retail and business developments can be found in the revitalized Mission District, along Las Tunas Drive and Valley Blvd., and the unique cultural retail complex at Del Mar and Valley. A stable business climate, supportive local government and affordable business opportunities make San Gabriel one of the most desirable locations in the Valley.
